Editing is even harder. It’s harder to write than going to work. At least you have two days off from work every week. Writing is every day. Every day I wake up and think, what do I have to write next? How am I going to fill up all these pages? I check my bank account and email first, do some household tasks, like today, laundry and clean the guest bath. Not that we’re expecting any guests, but you never know.

I’m on a get-rid-of-clutter kick. If I don’t use a thing, if it just sits around gathering dust, and I have no deep desire to keep it, it goes. This includes clothes, of course, but some things, like dressy holiday clothes, you can keep even if if you only wear them once a year.
